This piece is meant to highlight the importance and solidarity of the relationship between our civilians and healthcare workers, in these difficult times. The hand on the right represents civilians, which are doing their part to protect each other and flatten the curve by staying home, practicing social distancing, and sending encouragement and support to our healthcare workers. The gloved hand on the left represents our healthcare workers, doing their part to support and protect our communities by coming to work everyday, at great personal risk. The earth in the middle is a symbol of the unity and solidarity between individuals on both sides (healthcare, civilians), and it’s suspension between the heart created by the two hands, highlights the interdependence of that relationship and importance of working together to flatten the curve. The hands are reaching out to each other, sending love and support, and together they are holding up the world.
