I am in pursuit of spreading awareness about the killing of unarmed people of color by the police who are supposed to serve and protect them. . There are so many police killings of unarmed people of color and not enough justice. I am in pursuit of this because a lot of people are losing loved ones due to police killings. Those affected by this issue are people of color, families, friends, and communities. The change I hope to see is no more unjustified killings and no more killings of unarmed people of color. My artwork expresses this need for change by showing how long it took to kill George Floyd and he was an unarmed black male victim. I am passionate about this issue because I am of color and I have a lot of family and friends that are of color as well and I would hate for something like this to happen to them. If we can stop these injustices, the next unarmed person of color could be saved.
