The model minority myth, something that is still going on in the world, negatively impacts Asian American’s mental health because it often forces us to fit into a box, which restricts us from being our whole selves. The model minority myth often depicts asians as stereotypes such as just “being smart” or a “math whiz”, however it is important to know that we all face different things, and have different cultures. This is the message I am hoping to convey through the “In Pursuit of” photography contest.
