Air Pollution
Air pollution is the amount of substances in the atmosphere that are harmful to the health of humans and other living beings, or cause damage to the climate or to materials. Things such as the burning of fossil fuels, waste in landfills, exhaust from factories, agricultural activities, and etc. contribute to air pollution. They release greenhouse gases which then damage the Earth’s atmosphere, allowing more heat to be upon Earth and the air to worsen. Air pollution affects ecosystems and human health. Sulfur may lead to excess amounts of acid in lakes. Sulfur may also harm trees and soil in forests. Nitrogen in the atmosphere can damage marine life when deposited on surface waters. Air pollution in general is linked to higher rates of diseases such as cancer, heart conditions, and respiratory diseases such as asthma and emphysema. Also it can cause long term damage to peoples nerves, brain, kidneys, liver, and other organs. Is money worth more than the Earth?
