With my image, I am in pursuit of hope. The generations ahead give us hope for the future. The youth are our backbone and keep our people together. In my image you see 3 of my younger sisters, 2 of them are wearing masani scarves and skirts from the Navajo culture and this gives me hope because as young as they are, they already have this mindset of who they are. The scarves and skirts are what many women wore long ago as a sign of respect, modesty, and protection. This shows that many young children are in pursuit of hope and bringing back our culture, language and ways of life as indigenous people into the future. -Destiny Big Crow
