Crossing
“Crossing” Elaine Zhong, 16, she/her The mediums I work with are digital images. This design focuses on the blurred line between the rich and poor through my grandparents. Having lived through several Chinese wars and revolutions, wondering if there’d be enough food for the next meal was a common occurrence. They worked tirelessly in the healthcare industry and managed to drag themselves across the poverty line. In the photo is a line of extravagant western-style buildings. Less than 100 feet away, separated by a feeble wood block, lies the ugly reality of slums in Asia.
