Expedite Death Siona Samanta; 16; she/her Using Photoshop, I created “Expedite Death,” a digital art piece that talks about smoking and its detrimental effects. Having a relative who passed away from lung cancer after giving up smoking motivated me to bring awareness to this issue and its consequences. Lung cancer doesn’t spare the people who fought long and hard to give up their addiction. It doesn’t give you a heads up before making its presence clear; it unexpectedly attacks and changes your life. We as a community need to remind people of the irreversible consequences of their actions - which is what I achieved through “Expedite Death.” *I have permission to modify the original image, taken by Cody Davis and uploaded onto Creative Commons, for this project through the CC By 2.0 licensing that allows others to share and adapt the medium.
