My “in pursuit of” topic is about love and connection. I wanted to create a simple, minimal piece that immediately brought a sense of calm and steadiness. This image includes my boyfriend in the center and behind him, Ocean Beach. Both my boyfriend and I grew up in Ocean Beach so we take trips there often and love to go together. In this photo, I wanted to play around with the focus and color contrast. I wanted my boyfriend to be the center of the photo but out of focus. I focused the camera on the background and made sure to include the tide, to contrast the blue of the water against the warm sunset colors.
