Being a Mexican African American female myself, I would want nothing more but for all cultures to learn about one another. Practice traditions, understand rituals, and immerse oneself into the world of another. Our society cannot afford to endure added division. Instead of using our culture as a means of further disunion, we ought to come together and appreciate the world for all that it has to offer. I love my Mexican roots and I love my African roots but what's even more rewarding is the ability to express them both at the same time. Enough separation.
