In Pursuit of Darkness
I chose this image because it holds a saddening meaning. I took this picture at 2 am on a cold spring night in Joshua Tree, CA. As you look over the image you can see an orange glow between two estranged rocks. No this is not the sun, it is the light pollution beaming from the “City of Angels” skyline. Joshua Tree is about 2 hours east of LA so the light is very prevalent there. People come to Joshua Tree as an escape from city life and to lose themself in the stars. This threat continues to grow as more and more lights are turned on during the holiday season. This beautiful darkness is slowly being consumed by light.
