We are farming animals at a rapid pace and for our own benefit. Livestock causes 14.5% of the global greenhouse gas emissions. Every year 1.2 million acres of land are cleared for animal agriculture and 41% of US land - around 800 million acres - is used to feed livestock. Our food system must be reformed to save life on this planet.
