I am in pursuit of self-love. I believe within the harsh beauty standards of the world it pushes an image of what you “should look like”. This image of “being perfect” gives fewer opportunities for individuals to love themselves for who they are and not what they see on tv screens. We constantly compare ourselves to others who are publicly seen as beautiful and/or fit the beauty standard. Self-love is important because it shows how our individuality is the true beauty within life and how we should enjoy life without stressing overfitting in the toxic beauty standards. My image means that no matter what we look like, no matter what scars we have, we are all beautiful and should all look at ourselves in the mirror and smile because we are all beautiful inside and out.
