In Pursuit Of Teaching Connection
Mama’s been gardening her whole life, but her agricultural skills didn’t quite make an impact on my own mother. Yet, here I am, her granddaughter, in the garden beside Mama as I learn from her. She’s taught me that a ‘green thumb’ isn’t inherited, but practiced and learned - it’s a personal bond to Mother Nature and her teachings. My relationship with both Mama and nature grow with each other and because of each other. Humans have the privilege of learning from the world around us, and it’s critical that we show our reverence for nature as our teacher.
