I choose to bring attention to wildfires for a few reasons. The number of acres that have burned this year has exploded from previous years. More people die and more homes burn. Our planet continues to get hotter priming fuel and weather for fire. Explosive fire behavior is now normal. For example, the Camp Fire two years ago moved 80 football fields per minute destroying everything in its path. I would like my piece to jump out at people and make them passionate about the issues that cause wildfires and the issues they create. After all, fire kills.
