In 2011 the Syrian revolution began. People began protesting the government oppression with all their hearts. However, as the protests got larger, the protesters were met with more and more force. A new flag (as shown in the picture) was brought forth, a flag that represents both hope and a new beginning. As each and every Syrian has been devastated by the war, the flag represents our shared struggles. Although we may not have much left in our motherland, we can all look up to the bright green, red, black, and white colors of our flag.
