I wanted to play with the interconnectedness and individualism around the vaccine. We are as close as two fingers, when it comes to how we affect each other, but people reluctant to get the vaccine tend to have a stronger sense of individual freedoms. Highlighting “You” and putting the power in the reader’s hands is meant to galvanize that existing sense of individualism, as a superhero. The bold, graphic, simple style is meant for the piece to feel more relatable, and the black and white is so that anyone can identify with the flesh of the hand.
