Personal Statement: Hello, my name is Abby Tadesse, I’m a sophomore from Southern California and I am in pursuit of racial progress. For the past few years I have volunteered at hospitals across the U.S and the disparities in medical care between the social classes, and not surprisingly races, are astounding. One would think that the protests would have changed more by now but still, I see people hurting because others think they aren’t worthy of care. It is 2020, I’m sick of waiting, and as James Baldwin said “How much time do you want for your progress?”
