Since 2016, red hats have become infamous in American society with the MAGA movement. Seeing someone with a red hat would immediately bring about worry and discomfort for many people. Nowadays, that's translated into wearing a mask. Seeing people not wearing masks in situations where they should brings about those same feelings, which is why I put "Safety" on my mask to convey how they make me feel.
