Sexual Assault Awareness by Emilia Saldana

The background is teal since it’s the color for sexual assault awareness month. Some victims are too scared to say anything/come forward (which is why I put the x over my mouth) because someone always tells them this and it deeply affects them and at times, causes trauma especially if they were sexually assaulted by people who they trusted. I wore clothes in this picture that are more tight fitting and fall into the category of clothes that people blame the victim with. I decided to put myself in the picture since usually little girls and teenage girls are more likely to be sexually assaulted even though there are male victims too. I think everyone should be able to feel safe and without fear of something like this happening to them. -Emilia Saldana
