Vaccines for All!

This image is an ode to the serum run in 1925 during the diphtheria epidemic in Alaska, where vaccines were delivered to Nome by sled dog teams. Alaska is a huge state where many communities are not on the road system, so vaccines have been traveling by plane, sled, and four-wheelers. While the biggest problem in many parts of the world has been keeping the vaccines cold enough, Healthcare workers here have been sharing stories of having to keep vaccines in their coats to keep them from freezing. Getting vaccinations to all of our communities has been a huge feat, but thanks especially to the efforts of the Alaska Native Healthcare system, we've become one of the states with the highest rates of vaccinations. From the far North to the South, vaccines must be accessible to all!
