We've all been watching with rage & grief as rich countries like the US, UK, & Canada block the waiver of COVID-19 vaccine patents, shamefully preventing millions of people around the globe from having faster & steadier access to lifesaving vaccinations. We need health care systems built on care, not on profit. Period. I chose rosa rugosa (also called beach roses) for this illustration because they are plentiful here on the Maine coast, and their resilient flowers can stand up to the constant salt-spray of the ocean. We need global health care that supports all of us to bloom no matter where we are rooted.
